Winter Wonderland themes

Although we are only just out of a very hot August I am now working on some Christmas themes for a client in Ireland who is organising a white week event, so having decided to visit the land of ice, snow and crystals I came across these fabulous designs from the designer Tord Boontje, who ironically designed the fabulous lights I love in Habitat. His website is well worth a visit for anyone who is interested in hugely creative fabulous designs http://www.tordboontje.com/

When I have designed the white Christmas theme and finished it I will post it!

Gold & Turquoise at Melia Don Pepe hotel, Marbella

We loved creating all the decorations for this wedding using a gold and turquoise theme with butterflies.
The best thing though was the sweet table and the love seat made in a nook of a large tree in the grounds of the Melia Don Pepe hotel.
The venue was fantastic and we designed some modern centrepieces with turquoise water and turquoise lights in for the evening reception in the Don Pepe's modern stylish restaurant overlooking the sea, this worked really well with the style of the venue.
Yvonne, the bride, looked amazing and despite thunder and rain just as the ceremony got underway, the sun soon came out again and a good time was had by all.

Two If By Sea.

Some recent pictures of Kate's wedding at a family home in Gloucester, Mass. This time of year I always feel a little wistful about New England--nobody does fall better than the colonies. We finished Kate's dress back in the spring and it's nice to see it have its day in the sun. Silk cotton pleated gown with gold bias organza and beaded band.

Bridal Season Finale: Double Episode

The 2008 bridal season is winding down, and I've just finished two of my favorite dresses of the year. The first, for Chris, is off-white satin-faced silk shantung with grosgrain ribbon sash and flower detail. The ruffle bolero was a last minute inspiration, but it really makes the dress--don't you think? And yes, she is pregnant (so adorable). Congratulations, Chris and Todd.
The second, for Dove, is so perfect for her willowy figure and sleek haircut. White silk four-ply crepe with ruffle neckline and back cutout. She's jetting to Chicago for her wedding, then onward to a new home in Boise, so we had mere minutes to take a few quick snapshots. Congratulations, Dove...can't wait to see wedding pictures of this stunning young lady.

Cudeca Charity Evening Tamisa Golf

Everytime I visit Tamisa Golf I am always taken back by the fabulous setting this hotel has with it's view over the golf course and the mountains behind it, such a popular setting for weddings and a lovely, friendly relaxed venue. I was approached my Maureen of Butterfly Events who asked if I would donate my time and some decorations for a very worthwhile charity evening raising money for Cudeca and Motor Neurone Disease.
