Heart, Mind & Soul: Rebecca + Jayant ceremony

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Rebecca and Jayant for their special day. We could do an entire post or two on just how wonderful both of their families are. In what could have been a somewhat tense and sensitive joining of two different cultures, these two and their families showed us just how beautiful and wonderful our differences are and how they can be treasured as they seamlessly became one.

Robin Mathis of Twigg Botanicals created all of the bright and colorful flowers for the day. Orchids, roses, pincushions and hydrangea were placed along the custom built mandap (altar). Robin also hung the billowing orange fabric above, and weaved it around all four columns with the flowers for an elegant touch.

It was a very sunny and hot day in San Diego. Guests each had a mango-colored fan to help keep cool.

Trays of rose petals lined the aisle where guests were encouraged to shower the newlyweds after the ceremony.

Rebecca and her entire family wore traditional saris for the ceremony. The bright colors looked absolutely stunning in the courtyard setting.

Their ceremony was full of symbolic sentiments. Every step, every gesture, every word had a significant purpose.

Rebecca and Jayant had Rev.Susanna Macomb - a renowned expert on religious ceremonies -conduct the ceremony. She did an amazing job of merging the beliefs and weaving the traditions of both families.

I love this picture of the two of them with both sets of parents happily standing close by. It was such an intimate ceremony, and each family member had a specific role in it.

Photographer Sara France did an amazing job capturing the emotion and all of the details of the day. The shots of Rebecca and Jayant and their families are priceless.

We were witness to an extraordinary unifying of two beautiful families through the love of Rebecca and Jayant. We consider ourselves very lucky for getting to be part of their special day. As their ceremony was sentimental and meaningful, their reception was equally fun and playful. You will not want to miss this cranium-inspired reception! Check back soon for the rest of Rebecca and Jayant's one-of-a-kind wedding!
