Sunday was moody and cool, so I spent way too many hours at the
Vintage Expo (Clara patiently accompanied me). Among my finds was a dear little grosgrain ribbon pillbox hat, adorned with these flowers:
So sweet and pretty, but the years had not been kind. Something sentimental in me can't help rescuing little pieces like this, so I gently took it apart, soaked, cleaned, sun-dried and reassembled it:
I also added a little swath of netting that dips over one eye. Probably not "worth" the hours it took to do it, but a little labor-of-love is good for the soul,
