A Super Easy Lantern DIY For The Home

Hurrah!  The weekend is nearly upon us and that means I have some time to do some easy tricks to beautify the home.  On my radar is this beautiful lantern installation, straight from fashion designer Vannessa Bruno's Paris apartment.  I love how she's taken a $7 Ikea lantern and by using them en masse she's created a structural display.  I could see this taking up a unadorned corner of my house!!

If you are like me this holiday season probably means a few unexpected guests dropping by for drinks.  One of my favourite ideas to make my home festive and entertaining friendly is to get a string of fairy lights and pop them in a glass dome or vase.  It gives everything a festive feel and keeps the mood lighting cocktail friendly.  Do you have any other last minute ideas to make your home festive and guest ready?

This little beauty was bought at a garage sale for $3. Yes $3!!!! With a lick of paint just look at what it turns into. The lesson? Always check the bones of a piece, because it it has good bones you can work it into something special!
