Emma and Andy's Perfect Summer English Garden Affair

As you know I am a total sucker for a happy wedding.  With bright and cherry decor and a couple that has some 60's style going on, this happy wedding from Retrosight is full of goodness.  Emma and Andy were married in Andy's parents garden with a distinct DIY feel.  Hundreds of yards of bunting, homemade ale, an italian ice cream cart and a blue grass band made the day feel special, unique and utterly beautiful! PS. For more real wedding fun check out here!

One Long and Two Short Wedding Dresses

Good morning my lovelies.  How was the weekend?  I have such a thing for short wedding dresses - smart, modern and fresh these goodies from the Monique Lhullier Fall 2012 Collection are to die for.  But for good measure I just had to throw in a long dress as well!!!  So here we go: One long and two short wedding dresses.

A Crafty but Glam Table Top

Ahhhhhh blogging, its amazing what inspiration you can find. Take for example, this 'urban loft' table setting done for Utterly Engaged by JL Designs. The yarn balls kinda reminds me of this post from a while back, did you know they are super easy to do?

The Ultimate Backyard Dinner Bash

Backyard bashes are right up my alley - it's laid back, it's easy and there is a community vibe going on. Kinda like this bash from 100 Layer Cake where Ashley celebrated her birthday.

Amaze-ball Background for a Photobooth

Photobooth's bring so much fun to a wedding or party. But don't just think about the props, consider what fun the background can bring to your pictures too!  I'm loving the back drop from this   Ivy & Aster photo shoot - these vintage floral books have been attached to a backdrop to create an amaze-balls back ground.  The consistency in colour and scale ensures the back drop isn't too busy and it's as easy as ripping out pages of a book!  Would you do this?

Industrial Wedding Decorations

Your normal wedding decorations are vintage, cutesy or glam. But industrial hmmmm you don't see as much. But maybe that's a good thing, because when you do finally see something its a cracker. These wall banners would be so easy to make - with simple messages on a roll of fabric these would look super sweet.

A Wedding Decoration Staple - Paper Bag Lanterns

This simple trick is one of my go to ideas to bring some mood lighting to a wedding or party without breaking the bank.  Simply take a paper bag, fill one fifth with sand and pop a tea light candle in (IKEA do a brilliant 100 pack for $3.99) and then get ready to lighten up any party with a warm and soft glow.  PS. How to Create Alters and Aisles in a Garden Wedding

One of the wedding venues we were looking at was Blackburn Gardens at Redleaf Pools. Its a beautiful spots but I've had to think about how you signify an aisle because Woolahra council don't allow structures, fabrics or petals within the grounds. So this got me thinking, how do you signify an aisle?  Let's take a look at how we can easily create alters and aisles at a Garden wedding@

Start with this....

1. Potted plants lining an aisle

2. Perhaps some vintage fabric hanging from a tree as an altar alternative

3. What about rows of chairs with an aisle lined with candles

4. To personalise the chairs lets leave little note for guests and have flowers hanging from chairs
